Experts and representatives of the religions catholic, Protestant, hinduista and jainista they raised his position in the Interreligious World Meeting, which 2007 realizes in the frame of the Universal Forum of the Cultures, in the city of Monterrey, north of Mexico. On having expressed his disagreement with the euthanasia, Indian doctor Raksha Shah emphasized that in the jainismo there exists the concept of the "ahimsa", which it means “you will not kill”, which “has a fundamental importance”.
To the jainistas there is definitely prohibited the wars, the hunting, the fishing and to damage to the animals or to be neglected by his lives.
For his part, Oscar Martínez, catholic specialist in euthanasia of the University Anáhuac of the Mexican capital, thought that the assisted death is a crime that it would be necessary to chase of office.
He added that a society is not progressive because it kills his elders, but on the contrary, it turns into reactionary and into a society who is not capable of taking charge of the weakest: his patients.
In his shift, Marta Tarazco, representative of the Protestant Christians, argued that as well as the man does not choose when he can be born, neither he can decide when to die in a voluntary way.
The Indian - Briton Jayanti Kirpalani, representative of the international ONG Brahma Kumaris, supported that it is necessary to offer an exit to a world where the values disintegrate, but without removing what is not proper, like the life, which to his judgment has been given us.
Kirpalani said that we must learn to be related to the others in a constructive and full form, forgetting the destructive thing. It is not in favor, but against the euthanasia, but against the ignorance either.
The interreligious meeting, which concludes this Sunday in the Forum 2007 of Monterrey, is part of the Council of the Parliament of the Religions of the World, an organization that meets once a year and that takes as a target to be employed with the religious and spiritual communities at an effort to reach the peace and the justice.
